Where in the World Do You Want to Go?

I'm telling you, people, between teaching and grading and driving people around I am feeling spent.

Top five places I think about visiting when feeling whiny:

1. The British Isles (My friend Alexandria is very keen on Scotland, but I would like to see the old country--Ireland. Plus England, of course. Pemberly awaits.)

2. Hawaii. I've never been. That just seems wrong.

3. Greece and Turkey: I wanna see all the ancient Greek archeological sites. You know I like me my goddesses.

4. The other old country: Germany. I am descended mostly from German farming stock, so pass the bratwurst and hand me a dirndl dress.

5. Kyoto. Everyone says it's beautiful, and I wanna see the giant Buddha statue.

How about you? Where are you itching to go?

Tahiti! I'm not sure why. It's always seemed like the most exotic place!

Everywhere, starting with all the beautiful places in the US - New Orleans, for starters....

There are many places I still want to see: Paris, Bruges, Italy, Scotland, Spain, Japan. I dream about an African safari, but I doubt that will ever happen. In the meantime, I can barely motivate myself to go to the grocery store.

Good one, Margaret! Thank you for asking, I dream of travel.
The UK. All over. I've been to southern England and I'd go again in a heartbeat.
France. All over. I've been to Paris and heartbeat again. Paris needs weeks, not days.
Turkey. All over.
Portugal, especially Lisbon. I follow a photo blog there and it's so beautiful.
Patagonia.
Do I only get five?

Machu Pichu. I've been fascinated with it since college.

Yes, you must get to Hawaii. I love it! In fact, I'm in Hawaii right now. Really! You should be here with me drinking mai tais!

Margaret, Italy's full of history and good coffee and gelato shops, you'd love it there. For me, it'd be the Galapagos Islands and the Okavanga Delta in Botswana. My friend saw lots of animals there, including an elephant that stomped into the tent camp in the night. (The guard protecting them was scared and ran away).

Tuva because it has called to me for many years.

But will most likely make it to Vietnam first since we have friends there.

New Zealand would be interesting, but I don't want to go to places with poisonous snakes or insects and I don't want elephants trampling my tent... Or maybe I'll just go to bed for now - that time change has me all mixed up!

I want to visit the towns that my grandparents came from in the former Russian Empire: Zhitomir, Berdichev, Slonim, and Tiraspol. Also Leningrad, for the Hermitage Museum. Also Italy...the burial statues at Xian, China...don't mind me, I'm just getting started...
