Even More Bacon Mania

Two words: Bacon Soap. Yes. It's really made from bacon. I'd say more but I'm surrounded by a pack of hungry dogs.

Now you're scaring me. (In horror movies, it's always the one with the sweet face.)

About your earlier post - one of my neighbours is a devotee of Santoshi Maa (mother of patience) and called my daughters in one day to eat some blessed food (prasad) in honour of the goddess. But that goddess is a creation of a (probably) sixties movie. She's seen generally as a manifestation of Durga Maa who was even worshipped by Lord Ram, who, for the Hindus, is a god himself. An interesting feature of the Hindu faith is that god can be whoever you like!

Did you buy it and try it???

I wonder if there is a bacon goddess?

I have a feeling that soap could give one the trotters...

That dog has the eye of a siamese cat. I'd keep your eye on that one.

I'm thinking I probably couldn't make a clean poem of bacon soap....

I think we are all in agreement that this is not our favorite bacon item.

Gaelikaa: Thanks for the further info about this week's goddess. It really is interesting, and I am so glad to have readers who can tell what this is really all about.

Lynne has the right idea. Is there a goddess of bacon for Lynne?

Italo said...

ahahahahahahahah

Lynne said...

Petrea, I'm a vegetarian, so the bacon goddess would not like me! But, can you imagine a bacon goddess??? I was at a craft faire last weekend and I saw a bacon pillow (made to look like bacon, not real bacon). You could sleep with your head on bacon and dream bacon dreams!

Petrea Burchard said...

Lynne, I think the bacon goddess would be greasy, friendly, and maybe a little bit fat. She would be absolutely irresistible to non-vegetarians.

Actually, there is a goddess of bacon. Porcina: http://margaretfinnegan.blogspot.com/search/label/Porcina

Petrea Burchard said...

Ah yes. I'd forgotten about Porcina. There goes my heartbeat again.

What the?!!! You can't just tease us like that! Do you really use it like a soap? ewww! Who wants to smell like bacon - besides my fiancee? I bet your dog wouldn't mind either. :)
