Wise Women Friday: Marcelene Cox

SuitcaseImage via Wikipedia

Words of wisdom from the twentieth-century humorist Marcelene Cox:

A vacation frequently means
that the family goes away for a rest,
accompanied by a mother,
who see that the others get it.

Contents of my suitcase:

Children's Tylenol
Neosporine
Cortaid
Bandaids
Tums
Aleve
Advil
Vodka

Because ensuring that others get their rest is fraught with danger.

Vodka--
purely medicinal only in vast quantities.
Where is your family enjoying its rest?

Wish I had known to take these items a few weeks earlier. Maybe now I wouldn't feel that I need a vacation after the vacation!!

Sounds like a very wise packing list.

SP: Thanks for the visit. I look forward to hearing from you more often.

Dez: Oh yes. Purely medicinal. We are bound for the beach.

Posey: Oh no. Sounds like your vacation had too much drama.

Jean: It is a Wisdom born of experience.

What no Benedryl? What is someone has a severe allergic reaction? Or what if you want to drug your child to sleep??? (LOL)

As for the Band-Aids, I recommend the Blister Band-Aids. Have you seen them? They are great!

Have fun!

The beach, a perfect getaway. We love being pure beach-bums in the summer!

I'm in Oregon with my daughter . . . and infant tylenol, benadryl, desitin, and guilt from leaving her in a strange place with a babysitter so I could go wine tasting.

Hahah, loooove the post. :) I concur, I feel so awful for my mom whenever we go on trips. Ugh. Oh well. I'm going to have to go through the same when I have kids!

Be sure & stop by and leave a note!

Did you 4get the Kaopectake? I hear it now comes in bacon flavor, which may appeal to you.

I usually don't associate vacations with relaxing, refreshing, and restful.

I have to take a staycation this year, but I think I'll pack the same stuff.

The list gets bigger if you go camping

No kids, so I can go straight to the last item on the list. I'll get the blackcurrant flavoured one, though, to keep up my fruit intake.

2 bee stings later, glad I packed some stuff and wish I had some hard stuff left.

Even though I'm a whiskey drinker, I believe Vodka should definitely be up higher on the list. OH, yes.

Harumph--I suppose because you're on vacation you feel you can abandon your faithful readers--

Everywhere, and I don't care where it is, nobody realises that mothers need their rest. Well, they do in theory, but........
