Grateful for...my hubby

MarriageImage by jcoterhals via FlickrWe met in college, at a party. We were sitting on the lawn with a group of people, including my friend Margaret, who was the first person I ever knew who shared my name. (For clarity sake, she was known as Little Margaret and I was known as Big Margaret. Yeah. Not my favorite nickname, but, as I was told when I complained, it was better than "Large Marge.")

So, like I said, we were at this party, and Margaret said to this guy Steve, "Hey, you're wearing a Brooks Brothers shirt." Well, that was it, they went on for ten minutes about how much they loved Brooks Brothers.

I thought, "Oh my god. How geeky can you get?"

Little did I know...

PS: He may be married to me, but his heart still belongs to Brooks Brothers.

Sweeeet. I never tire of hearing how couples met. Especially from those with time under their belt.

So, did you have a big wedding; white dress and all that?

And you've been stylin' together ever since :)

Wishing you and yours a wonderful Thanksgiving, Margaret!

You must not have been very big because you got the guy. What a sweet story.

And you have a very large clothes closet or two for Brooks?

Sweet story indeed, Margaret.

Oh, how beautiful, Margaret. I'll bet he'd lie his Brooks Brothers shirt over a puddle for you with only a momentary and mildly forlorn hesitation.

"When Harry Met Sally" was on today and can never pass that up. Later read your post Margaret and thought you and your hubby could sit on that couch and tell the story of how you met.
