HA HA For You!

Cover of "A Homemade Life: Stories and Re...Cover via AmazonGuess who won Deb's (http://paperturtle.blogspot.com) pass the book contest? Me! Me, me, me, me, me, me, me. I won, and you didn't. You know why you didn't win? Because I did! HA! So too bad for you, and hooray for me.

Let me rub it in a bit more. Deb has been participating in this very cool Pass the Book contest. In this case, the book being passed is A Homemade Life by Molly Wizenberg. It's a memoir/cookbook by the creator of the food blog Orangette. I haven't made any of the recipes yet, but I have some very sad bananas so I'm planning on making the banana bread. I will report back with my results.

Deb won the book from Beverly, who won it from, Melissa, who won it from Sian (Sian didn't write her blog down in the book so I can't tell you what it is, and I am sorry about that because Pass the Book is a great idea).

When I am done, I have to Pass the Book to someone else. So...who will it be? Just post a comment saying you'd like the book and I'll draw a name out of a hat. Let's give it a week, shall we? I'll draw the name on Sunday, July 31.

Last time I entered a contest I won a seat at a memorable breakfast of home made biscuits and lots and lots of bacon. Count me IN.

Btw, I really admire your goodsportswomanship qualities.

I'll put my name in because it sounds like an interesting book and contest.

Hmmmm....what an interesting idea.....I am not sure if I will enter the contest (I hate losing and besides, one more book would sink me), but that may be a perfect way to take care of some of the books that keep falling off the tops of the stacks of books in my house........thanks and good luck to all participants.

Bananas are the only fruit that you can make happy or sad.

If I win do I have to hold a "Pass the Book" contest? And do I have to cook something?

Margaret, this is so complicated. No wonder you won.

Speaking of Margaret's sportswomanship, I won a seat at the bacon breakfast too, and I didn't even win the contest.

Desiree and Petrea: I'm glad you admire my good sportswomanship. This is my most humble day ever.

Lo: It is a good idea isn't it? It's a great way to move a book to a good home.

Petrea: I'm sorry I made it complicated. I blame myself. If you win, I send you the book. You read the book. I do think it is more fun if you blog about it, but I guess you could do that without cooking something. Then I guess you really do have to blog the concept so that you can actually pass the book along. Fun, no?

:o) I'm so happy that you are happy about the win. I'm smiling really big right now. LOL

BTW and FYI: Sian wrote her name/blog in the book but I noticed that it's a couple of pages in, rather than on the inside cover.

No! What if I want to keep the book?

Okay, yes, it's fun. I think Tony should win.

I know why you won, and I didn't, MF: I didn't enter the contest!!

Nevertheless, congratulations! I'm very happy that you won.

If you'll shut your pie hole for a second, then I'll be able to say this is my most humble day ever. It's not yours; no one can hold a candle to my humble. I leave your humble in the dust.

I don't want another book - I'm in Lo's situation of abundance. But...I'd love some banana bread ... with walnuts please. And thank you.

AH: How dare you impugn my humble day. My humble day is the very definition of a humble day. Your humble day is a day spa compared to mine.

Petrea Burchard said...

My day wasn't humble.

You have a competitive streak, which is not attractive. Or humble.

Me, me, me, I want to win a book with recipes :)

Hi Margaret, I have been writing my name down on all the books, it's there somewhere! - but Deb did give the link to my blog in her post and I have an information page there with details of all the books I've been passing.

I'm delighted to meet you - when you draw a winner please drop by and let me know who it is so that I can update the page. thanks!

It's reaaalllly slow at work these days so if I won this book it would give me soemthing awesome to read while at work and then I could make myself a long list of things from the book to do once home.I'd blog about my list.

I love any book which has recipes in it. The first one I may have had was Heartburn by Nora Ephron :-)

Very funny post, thanks! Book pass alongs...hmmm...great idea, too, but for places with reasonable (or at least reliable) postal service...that counts me out. (Thanks for the long work hours encouragement, too! After nonstop weeks, the worst just might be over...as of 12:33 A.M. this very morning...)

Last time I entered a contest, I won Calliope from this very humble blog. You make me feel lucky, Margaret, so count me in on the Book Pass contest.

I love the cover of "A Homemade Life."
