"What have you done for color today?" Henri Matisse once asked Rosamond Bernier, author of the new memoir Some of My Lives.
Here's what I did:
It's not Matisse, but it's straight from the rain-kissed garden.
So what have you done for color today? Discuss!
(PS: I am loving Some of My Lives. It is a very engaging look at a remarkable woman who hobnobbed with everyone from Matisse to Leonard Bernstein. Plus she had a boozer monkey! There's a great interview with nine-five year old Bernier on NPR. You can find it here.)

Trying to make a deadline for a RFQ (request for qualifications) drains me of color. It would have been nice to procrastinate the inevitable with Rosamond Bernier. Put the pink back in my cheeks
What have I done for color? Hmm. I've taken pictures of it, but I don't know that that counts. That only replicates what others have done. I'll have to go out and do something and let you know.
Great photo! Umm . . . I consciously chose a colorful sweater rather than my usual brown or gray because today was just dismal.
I caught part of that NPR interview. Loved it. Color? Life was gray today, and unlike Bec, I wore a gray sweater.
But now I'm appreciating Louise's pink nose.
I often wear scarves, so I added a gold swirled pattern scarf to my black sweater today. I like to bring in just a hint of color to fashion.
CUTE little strawberry!
What I've done for color so far this morning? Uh...purple pajamas? I'm off now to add some color...
I caught the interview earlier and thought, holy smoke, such a life!
I have a red robe on.
Love the question, but have no answer. (Off to google her.)
I asked my students what colour today was- being overcast and rainy it was mostly grey but one, obvious optimist, said 'it's orange, Miss!'
I am so impressed with your strawberry-growing abilities! I can not keep a plant alive for the life of me, and my strawberries would definitely make it to the point where they turn red! ;)
Made me think of Tom Lehrer's "Alma"...has to be one of the funniest things I've ever heard: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hH4J8CIBc7Q. (Hmmm...color...a crisp red apple at lunch.)
I wasn't familiar with Rosamond before. Enjoyed the interview.
Very dull, gray and rainy here. I made cole slaw - green and red mixed, and added dried cranberries and raisins!
Daisy's Barbara
It's so gray here, I definitely need some COLOR! Wait, maybe I could spell it differently and that might add the extra oomph I need? COLOUR. Feels better, yes.
