Me and My Terror

When UPS came on Thursday, I knew exactly what was being delivered, which is why I waited 30 minutes to open the door.  Then, when I opened the door, I grabbed the box, opened it, stuffed the wrapping deep in the trash and stuffed the contents of the box deep in my desk drawer.  I took nary a look.  I said nothing, not even to myself.

The next day, I marshaled the courage to look in the desk drawer.  There it was: the proof copy of The Goddess Lounge.  I thought I might throw up.  But then I took a deep breath, and LOOKED.  It looks good, people.  It looks good.

It took about 20 more minutes before I could show the book to my husband.  I have told one other person.  Now, three days later, I am telling you.  Again, I think I might throw up.

July 3rd, is the day, people.  On July 3rd, if you are so inclined, you will be able to buy yourself an ebook (instant gratification) or order a paperback (Amazon, Barnes & Noble--I think you should be able to order it just about anywhere.  (There is a slight chance you might have to wait a few days more to order the paper back.  I will keep you posted.)  Starting July 3, you should also be able to click right through to Amazon right from my blog.  It's my hopes to get the book in some local stores.  Again, I will keep you posted.

In the meantime, I will go throw up.

Margaret.
I can't tell you how much you inspire me.
Do you know?

Right now, my eyes are misting and I'm hoping you don't barf. But even if you do, I'm still more grateful than I can say, for all the motivation you've given me.

You're the goddess of inspiration, Margaret!

A celebration is in order! Let there be wine, Colin Firth and song! Here's to you, Margaret, for not just having faith, but taking action to demonstrate it. I haven't decided yet on whether to go for instant gratification or the anticipation of waiting for US mail... either way, I'll be there.

This is wonderful news. I am excited for you and not at all nervous (tad jealous maybe). I definitely think celebration is in order. I'm getting myself a piece of chocolate cake now--in your honor, of course.

Glad no huge mistakes jumped out at you immediately. That's what usually happens when something I've written appears in print on paper. Can't wait until the 3rd to order your book!!!

Yay! I'm so excited. I only just stumbled upon you and this awesome project, but it sounds like it's going to be such a fun and wonderful read. I can't wait!

Eat some good chocolate like Rois said. Believe what Petrea says and pinch yourself really, really hard on Tuesday. You're not dreaming, it's real and it rocks!

Such exciting news! (Ok, not the part about you wanting to throw up; I feel bad about that.) A big congrats and hurrah that The Goddess Lounge will be available on Tuesday! I already have a post-it on my computer reminding me to buy it. And I will definitely attend Shell's virtual book party in celebration (since Colin will be there).

Congratulations! Will we be able to order an autographed copy?
