Apropos of nothing. Just good general advice from a woman who would probably know. George Bernard Shaw wrote "Pygmalion's" Eliza Doolittle for her, and when George Bernard Shaw writes the part of Eliza Doolittle for you, I think we can safely assume that you know a thing or two about life -- including how to frighten horses.

When I realized she lived to see a 100 I wanted to view a picture of her. She, like many of todays young actors enjoyed the company of a pocket pooch.
Which begs the question, what was she doing in the bedroom that would scare horses?
GB Shaw was madly in love with her (from afar, which I believe was always the case with GBS). Their correspondence is legendary.
You two always make my blog better. PA: the link is perfect. I don't know why I never think of these things. Isn't she lovely? And don't you love how she's not a size zero? AH: I most appreciate the tidbits about Mrs. Campbell. Poor GB Shaw -- always to love from afar. Have you read their correspondence? Was she much of a thinker? I wonder what they wrote about. Perhaps I'll investigate.
Hmm. There were horses in the street but I don't suppose there were horses in the bedroom. Unless you were Catherine the Great. And that was a myth anyway, wasn't it? And were those horses scared?
And yet, we call her "Mrs. Patrick Campbell?" Sounds like this lady had a personality of her own.
Barbra: I know. The lack of first name is bothersome, isn't it. Yet it's amazing how she holds her own even subsumed under her husband's identity.
