2/3/10

Thank You

First, a thank you. Thank you to all the readers who clicked over to the Rose City Sisters flash fiction website to read my short story "Sweet Revenge." Because of you, my story was named a finalist in the site's story of the year competition.

Second, an update. "Sweet Revenge" won! I'm excited, honored and grateful. I had very good company.

Just thought you'd want to know.

First, I love your graphic that goes with your story!!!

Second, this is thrilling and well deserved!!! (Although I did not read the other stories for fear of cancelling my vote for you. Now I can safely read the others!)

Third, I have looked up the following definition of the name Margaret in the Urban Dictionary:
A girl who craves attention. Is also one of the most giving people you will ever meet, but do not cross her since she can be the spawn of Satan. Is apparently good in bed, does not have the best luck in finding worthy partners.

Britt: I am sorry that you were in a Margaret situation with your boyfriend Carla.
Jake: Be nice to her, she can be such a Margaret at times.

I think there is a future flash fiction story here!

MF, congrats on your sweet revenge over your unworthy diners, et al! You may now claim their spoils as the Victor!

Your competition will get over their bitterness as soon as you fill their palate with something sweet. Like Chocolate Cake or macarons.

Again, congratulations on your blood, sweat and tears victory!

Congratulations--a very deserving winner. I loved that story. Although I do wonder about the workings of a mind that could come up with it!!!!!!!!!!

As one who admires all of you, may I have one of your cakes to celebrate?

Thanks, everyone.

Lynne: Who knew people with my name were so different from me, wilting wallflower that I am.

Vanda and AH: I do make a killer chocolate cake. I will make us one.

Yeehaw! Congratulations!

Aw, now Margaret, you shouldn't have to make cake for everyone just because you won. But my WV is "chorp." Which sounds like eating, doesn't it?

You're correct, PDP. If Marg just gives a cake slice to woman's best friend then we'll all celebrate & call it even.
