Time for a dip in the pool, is it?

Back view of fashion models in swim suits, two...Image via WikipediaIt's January. So, of course, my local Target is full of swim suits. God help you if you want a sweater or--worse--a coat. But swim suits they got.

I, for one, am always buying my swim suits in January. My thighs look so beautifully fleshy and pale this time of year. Plus, naturally, I'm getting ready for my winter cruises, of which I take many.

Bon voyage.

P.S.: That's me in the hat.

I know! It's so wierd. And at least ONE of your cruises will be to Alaska, right?

Amazing, isn't it? This is why, as a retailer myself, I have the hardest time putting seasonal things out months ahead of time.

Sometimes I think that in retail, there are only two seasons: Christmas season and Summer. I've been seeing t-shirts and tanks here in New England all winter and can't figure that one out. I mean, we got 24 inches of snow today :/

Speaking just for myself, I noticed yesterday how particularly firm and toned my stomach looks in winter. What a waste to have only one season. Bring it on, baby.

Great photo (I think that's me on the left)! As a regular swimmer I'm always looking for suits, so I'm happy that they're on sale now. My mom actually called the other day from Costco "Speedos for $19.99 -- you want one?" She knows my size and what I like so I trust I'll like what she bought.

And I'm always behind. I go looking for bathing suits when apparently...it is time to get snow pants!

I mistakenly thought now would be a good time to get a woolen hat. yesterday, I learned differently.

Though, if you can stand to wear the suit now, it must be a winner.

I too have started swimming year-round, so I'm happy when suits are available.

Olga: Alaska first, then Patagonia.

AH: You should join me on the cruise.. I'll wow them with my fleshy thighs and you can dazzle them with your stomach.'

Lori: That must be so hard. I never thought of it from retailer's point of view.

Joanne: 24 inches of snow! Wow.

Katie: Well, you are shaming me with your healthy habits. Now wonder you look so good in the photo.

JCK: I'm with you. I just can't think swim suit when I need mittens, and I can't think mittens when I need a swim suit. Hence I am left with really old clothes.

Jean: What were you thinking? A warm hat in January? That's crazy talk.

So ridiculous. Did you miss the Easter displays? They've probably taken them down to make room for back to school supplies. Now if you want to buy a swimsuit in July, you're in trouble because the winter coats will be out.

Margaret said...

PA: Well...maybe you should head out to Target.

Daisy: But you like the snow, yes?

Bec: I missed the Easter decorations. Did they bypass Valentine's Day completely?

I hear you! It's not until March, er... April, okay - May that I begin to panic about the state of my body, and start exercising.

Margaret said...

Theresa: I find that avoiding swim suits altogether helps keep the panic in check. THanks for the visit.

I didn't say I didn't like my suit. Actually I even like the body that goes in it. Strong and resilient. It's the operator that could use some work

Sarcasm. That's it. If I had to pick one thing, that's what I love the most about you.

LOL... I for one am always buying swimsuits in January. :o)

As a new homeowner, I am flat broke so I can entirely avoid the retail scene and bathing suits in January. Lucky me!

Hahahahaha!

(PA, funny too.)

My thighs and belly are looking so fab (did I say fab? I meant flab) that I'll be looking for a nude beach to hang out on. Don't need a suit for that.

I just found your blog through Paper Turtle and I love it.

Our stores starting putting out Valentines stuff a couple of days before Christmas. Before a holiday or season is over or even half way through they have the next one out. You know with swimsuits already being out next week they will be stocking Halloween costumes and pumpkins. "Good grief Charlie Brown!"

Lady Moon: Thanks for the visit! I agree completely. We were in a bookstore literally two days after Christmas and there were Valentines!
