Meet My Blog Friend Petrea

My friend Petrea blogs at Pasadena Daily Photo. She has the very hard job of posting a photograph of Pasadena every day. Everyday! Can you imagine. Also, she puts up commentary, often reflecting on the photo or on civic doings around town. Oh. And have I said that she does this every fricking day. Every fricking day!

I think it would kill me.

But Petrea perseveres, which tells you the kind of person that she is. She is the onward and upward type. (And, to be both honest and snarky--don't tell her I said this-- but it's really not fair that she also has those great cheekbones that make her look all heroic while moving onward and upward and posting a picture a day. Make me sick already.)

Me? I am the stop at the base of the hill, shake your head, turn around and go home type. I have quit too many things to mention, including, to everyone's satisfaction, softball, where I was the third-string right fielder. I don't think I lasted one season.

I'm totally OK with this, by the way. I'm all for giving up.

I just wish I could do it more often. Motherhood? OMG! It's not like TV at all. I should have stuck with dogs, but it's too late for should'ves. Too late. Too late. Too. So I persevere, persevere, persevere.

Unlike Petrea, I don't have the cheekbones for it either.

As long as you persevere with the writing, we won't complain. I won't tell--about those cheek bones. I'm sure no one else will, so you should be safe.

Well I am with Olga! :-)

Petrea is a star! Great to see her lovely face with those striking cheekbones here. She's a goddess too so it makes sense.

Every day. Hard to believe!

I think you both persevere superbly.

I just saw something about Antonovich asking for an EIR on the Hahamongna project on a Patch update.

Perfect Petrea Profile! I too have been in awe of Petrea for as long as I've been following her blog -- she's a real inspiration and I agree with Susan -- a goddess too!

Kudos to Petrea for having that eye for Pasadena detail. As much as we see Pasadena's personality in her images, I think we see hers too :)

I'm in awe of Petrea, and all the daily bloggers. I feel sorry for myself when I'm half way through my Friday afternoon drinky-poos and realise I have to put up my one and only post for the week.

Margaret, we had to play softball at school. {Vaguely similar to baseball, perhaps, but I really don't know, so don't quote me.} I don't think there was even a name for the place they stuck me in the outfield...

Petrea, Goddess Blogger Extraordinaire! High cheek bones naturally go with the territory (but I bet she sucks at miniature golf).

I don't know when I first found Petrea's blog -- I've thought about that ever since I read your post.

I take her words and photos to heart, on a daily basis.

EVERY DAY!!!! It's the cheek bones, I'm sure, it's the cheek bones. If I had such gorgeous cheek bones, I'd blog every day too!

Otherwise, I'm in awe! Way to GO Petrea!

OMG! Where was I yesterday? Oh--I was at Marshall's in Montrose, trying on tops. Don't ask, I totally struck out.

Speaking of whic, I, too, quit softball years ago because it was so humiliating. And let me just say this about motherhood: it's a good thing I didn't try that, or you might have found a few more things to put on my list of lacks.

Thank you for this lovely post! You make me laugh and blush and burst with pride all at the same time!

Love your take on Petrea, Margaret. And taking a photo everyday is definitely a challenge! (I've tried to do the Project 365 and have been slacking a bit!)

Cool...I'm off to check out Petrea's blog. Thanks for the lead...

Because I know Petrea's not going to look in again today and get embarrassed, I want to add that she's also a great writer, actress, historian, car driver, animal lover, and public speaker. She raises neighborliness and house values wherever she lives, and even has a Wikipedia page.

Her goddess just has to be the Tongvan Quaoar, who is female despite what Wikipedia says.

As Susan and others have already said, Petrea is the godess of daily blogging and count me as one of her admirers. I think I'd be hard pressed to be coherent if I had to do it every single day, yet she does it so well.

It must be the cheekbones.....

I'm reading this because I subscribed to the post, okay? Wouldn't you? I mean, you would. You would, believe me. I shouldn't tell you I'm here so you'll go say more nice things, but jeez louise.

I wonder if there's a way I can use this post in my search for an agent for my book. "Hello agent, I'm terrible at softball and I DO suck at miniature golf but Margaret likes me I have cheekbones." That ought to be good for something. It's so fine for my ego I'm not allowed to go out in public today.

Since I know P doesn't read many blogs regularly, I write this knowing she probably won't read it: P is a loner who loves people and a home-body/buddy who loves to travel.

That's all I'm gonna say about her. Here. If I'm tempted to say more juicy secrets, well, it's gonna be on my blog.

Wow, everyday? That is definitely perseverance... I think she is my new hero! And I think you're too hard on yourself, you're doing a great job here :)

I met Petrea through City Daily Photo community, it was like I recognized old friend in the crowd. Then, reading her thoughtful posts and great comments to them, I found your blog and so glad about that. All the best to you, girls!
At a moment I came up from my office work for 20min break to read, and now am diving back..
