The Horror

We are basically camping here, and by camping I mean living with limited Internet access. We held out as long as we could, but we are switching from DSL to Uverse.  To do so, we must cancel one, and only then schedule the other. And, of course, we have to wait almost two weeks for installation because now we are ensnared in the clutches of AT&T. We have an iPad with limited cellular service, and we are hoarding that iPad like it is the Holy Grail. At any moment my children will no doubt come calling for the iPad, and their weapons are good. Whining, moaning, screaming, eye rolling, dirty fingernails and pure stealth and deceit. Will I survive? Will we all survive? It is too early to tell, but I am afeared.

I hear footsteps! Now angry snorts of--

AT&T - I'm so sorry. I hope you live to tell the rest of the story and blogging from an iPad is no picnic!

AT$T is the devil.
Let me know when you need an exorcist.

You can do it, one step at a time (are there 12 for internet withdrawal?!). If you need a "fix," there's free wifi at all Pasadena public libraries!

Follow Ann's advice ... head for a free wifi outlet near you. Steal a car if you need to.

BTW. where the heck ARE you???

Yes, the limits of an Ipad! But I think you'll survive ok since you didn't mention pitchforks or torches.

Btw, how's the A/C working?

There must be a goddess to call on for help to get you through this...

Good luck!

You can drive, they can't.

Be wily.

Ann has a good idea. So does Jean. Sorry about the AT&T, but I can tell you from experience that's remediable.

OMG - the memory of my internet deprivation during last year's move still singes my brain cells, so I utterly sympathize. For what it's worth, once Uverse let me in, it's worked pretty well for me, so hang in there. PS I'm really enjoying your book -- congratulations!!

Two weeks without Internet access?! Oh dear. That is a horror! I have Charter, and the service is not good. I've been contemplating a switch to AT&T but I'm afraid to do it. I'll see how you survive it first.

I finished The Goddess Lounge last weekend. I loved it, Margaret! But I think William is my soulmate. Sorry, Penne.
