Weekend Update

Things I did this weekend:

1. Made pie.
2. Ate pie.
3. Saw "Lincoln" and "Skyfall." (Both very good.)
4. Ate pie.
5. Watched "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure." (Best line ever: "Something unusual is afoot at the Circle K.")
6. Got ready for the workweek: grading, grading, sighing, grading.
7. Watched Scout eat pie.  (Keep your pie high, ladies and gentlemen.)
8. Became uncharacteristically obsessed with Star Wars Angry Birds. (There is a Darth Vader piggy!)
9. Wrote a family Christmas letter (email me at mail@margaretfinnegan.com if you want a copy).
10. Bemoaned the end of pie.

PS: Like the picture of Scout? The talented writer/designer Kate Wong has a blog column called Dog Stalker. Send her a picture of your pooch and she'll paint and then post it. It's free! Actually, her whole blog is awesome. You should check it out.

I'm impressed with everything you accomplished this weekend! I want to see both those movies (in #3, not #5).

LOVE the Scout picture! I'm off to visit Kate's blog...

I'm Kate's biggest fan. Once we get (almost) everything done, I'm going to interview her on my blog. And I'm definitely going to send her Boz's picture.

Me send Abby picture also! Pie is my enemy - I have to keep it out the house, else I'd eat it endlessly.

Of course Bill & Ted stole that line from Shakespeare, Measure for Measure.

I think Kate is talented and generous. I can't wait to send a photo, once I decide which photo, which dog.

Now I see why you were so busy on the weekend, Margaret. Pie does deserve its own place on the agenda. {Katie's work is great! Looks like she already has a big queue forming.}

I made myself a pumpkin pie--makes a good breakfast and lunch and then a good evening dessert. All that Vitamin A, good egg protein, etc.
Had no T-Day pie though. Niece of culinary school experimented with shoo-fly pie. Ick! Just plain wrong! She should be banned from Thanksgiving dessert duty forever in my opinion.

Awesome watercolor of Scout.

Sad the pie is gone. More pie-baking times ahead.

The pie may be gone but soon there will be cookies to bake and eat.But those had be kept high as well, you know how dogs are.

This should be titled "Life of Pie."
I spent the weekend comforting my daughter through multiple technological disasters. What I should have done was Fed Ex her some Pie.

I'm not much of a pie fan, but I did like Skyfall. Lincoln is on my list for our next movie date.

We have a lot in common . . . #1, #3 (just Skyfall), #6 (16 essays to go by 10am tomorrow), #8 (actually, my daughter more than me but it's fun just watching her), #10.

How about a goddess request?

I need to fill classes to raise money for my own schooling.Got a goddess for filling classes?

I know you are at the end of the term and probably don't even want to think about full classes but I had to ask.

Yes, what PA said! Most cats don't even try to take your pie. I've just been reading your RCS stories - wonderful!

I love your list. Especially the pie.
And Kate's drawing is great! I'd love to see one of Petrea's Boz.

Petrea Burchard said...

I need a goddess for filling classes, too, now that Rois mentions it. John starts teaching screenplay writing in January.

Plus guess what, Ms. M! I just sent Kate a photo of Boz today!

Ms M said...

@Petrea: Great! Can't wait to see it!
